Frozen BIG Taro Tapioca Balls, also known as 芋圓 in Mandarin, are a soft, slightly chewy frozen tapioca topping made with taro.

Best for: Bubble tea shops, dessert bars, milk tea menus.

How to cook?

The ratio of taro balls to water is 1 : 6
No need to defrost the frozen balls
Pour into boiling water and stir until it floats
Turn to high heat and cook for 4 mins
Turn off the stove, cover and simmer for 4 mins
Strain out the hot water and serve

How do I cook Frozen BIG TARO Tapioca Balls?

Do not defrost. Drop them straight into boiling water at 1 part balls to 6 parts water, stir until they float, boil hard for 4 minutes, then cover off the heat for another 4 minutes and strain.

The big balls take 4 minutes each way. Defrosting first makes them break up in the pot.

What is the shelf life, and how should I store it?
